In my garden in the South-West of France every spring the Huppe fasciae return. Behind the windows of the workshop, I observe the feather fans, the scene of nuptial parades consisting of chases, food offerings and songs used by the males to charm the females. They are always in couple and I wonder in which bocage they have made their nest, a simple crack in a tree. They accompany me until September before leaving for Africa, where they take a bit of my dreams with them.
