ALIVE

The theme of XXL paintings was born from the format itself. When I started to paint on the large wall of my studio, I wanted to lose myself in an imaginary jungle, vibrant with colors, sounds, lights and unknown. A way to penetrate the painting by successive layers of colors until not stopping. The plant merges with the organic, the foliage sometimes imitates the feathers, in a choreography of succulents, aloes, agaves.

An invitation to exoticism, to travel to the lush world of a familiar Eden. Like the falsely naive paintings of Douanier Rousseau, the XXL jungles hide behind their thick leaves another world, wilder, more mysterious, more cruel perhaps than it seems.
